Design Problem

Personal Assistant Eden is a self-promo design piece to promote me as a communication designer. With a certain target audience, this project demonstrates my design knowledge and my unique attribute that would benefit my target audience and differentiate me from other competitors in the same field.

I’m a humanistic communication designer who cares about humans, values human benefits, and dedicates to create a better living society through creative design.

Target Audience

My target audience is social welfare services and communities such as schools, health centers, charities, etc.

These organizations dedicate to serve people and fashion a better society by providing better living resources for mankind. They cover a series of activities at the community level to bring improvement in the social well-being of society and individuals. They are concerned with the quality of people’s lives as well as the spiritual aspects.

As a designer who also sees humanistic care as a mission, I have the passion to work for my target audience. I can easily discover and understand the needs and situations, and their objectives and obstacles. In terms of design, my unique attribute allows me to reach their target market at an emotional level as my works could resonate with people and become inspirational and evocative.

Design Concept / Solution

Personal Assistant Eden uses Apple Siri as the concept. The intelligent personal assistant Siri is a human-centered design. As the characteristics of Siri match with my unique attribute and benefits, I compare myself to Siri and create a new intelligent assistant Eden. 

 

In terms of design, the layout mimics the interface of Siri in order to deliver the message and to be recognizable. I communicate my three benefits in the form of three functions with scripts and illustrations that support them. The dimension of the piece will be relatively smaller than normal publication as it will be easy to keep and carry around. It will be distributed in-person to my target audience as well as digitally.
